Autumn 2007
I still do not have my room organized. I have just been so busy, and things seem to be getting piled up in there.
When the laundry is dried, the girls have been putting my stuff and the bathroom linens in on my bed until I could get to them, about once a week or so. I had assumed that they were putting their stuff away first. No such luck! More work for me.
The new rule is that the clothes come out into the livingroom. I fold my stuff and the bathroom linens, and there stuff goes into a pile for them to fold and take care of. I put away the bathroom linens and put my stuff on my bed until I can take care of it.
I am sleeping in the living room because it is too warm in this trailer if the livingroom and kitchen windows are not kept open at night. There have been break-ins in our area, so I will not leave the windows open unless I am sleeping in the livingroom. Good thing I am single. I've been on the coach for more than a month!. It is worth it, though, to have a cooler living area in the mornings and early afternoons.
I will post here when I get the time to organize my room again.
Spring 2007
Yet again, I organized and cleaned this room. And, yet again, I organized and cleaned other rooms. All the stuff that I do not use in the other rooms are now in my bedroom, so it is no longer organized.
I have given enough stuff away over the last year to almost fill another trailer, I swear! And I live in a trailer! Where does all of this stuff come from?
When I have a chance, I will try to organize my room again and get rid of more stuff!
Winter 2007
The master bedroom should be our haven from the outside world. It should be a chaos and negativity free zone. A place where we can go to unwind, to relax, to get away from life.
Unfortunately, until January, my room was so chaotic that I hated to even go into it.
I decided in January that I had to do something about it, and now I have only 1 corner and the area under my window to organize. I have done so well. The stuff in these two areas are things that do not belong in my room. Things that I am trying to find proper homes for.
Here are some of the things that I have done in my room:
* I had my stepfather build me a new closet. It is a long closet with no doors, so I feel as though I have to keep it nice and tidy.
My dresser is in the center of my closet, and I only have a few things hanging. The rest goes into the drawers of my dresser. The top of my dresser holds some of my witch collection, and the wall above holds necklaces and a few other important personal items. I hang clothing to the left of the dresser.
Under the hanging clothes, I store the space bags with the out of season clothing and bathing. I also store a couple of space bags with clothes that are too small for me there.
The shelf above the bar holds books (I read a lot and have a wide array of books.) They are lined up neatly.
There are shelves running down the wall to the right of the dresser. This is where I store candles, incense, candle holders and other books. The floor area holds (in an organized fashion) the yoga mat and other exercise necessities that I own.
* I store winter holiday items under my bed. The ornaments and some of the other items are stored in the large metal popcorn tins that I keep.
* I had my stepfather build me shelves next to my closet. They are deep shelves that can hold quite a bit.
The top two shelves hold Thanksgiving decoration. The second two hold Halloween decorations. I plan to find something to store these in that will look neater, but do not want to do this with cardboard boxes.
The next two shelves hold our homeschool records. I need something to put these into as well.
